She's on Board Now
This past week my 11 year old daughter finally decided she wanted to add her polymer clay creations to my shop! She will be adding different clay jewelry, from cell phone charms to earrings. I'm so excited for her, and she's already had two sales in only seven days. It's a good start!
She wanted to package her items all pretty. I'm very proud :)
All done! Tomorrow she will ship it off!

Baby Love
Today, my 1 year old was snacking in the living room, and of course making a mess. When she was done eating I went to pick up the pieces of food she dropped on the floor. I wasn't frustrated by having to do that. It's expected from a little one after all. Then along came baby, toddling her way to Mamma, and she planted a sweet kiss on my cheek. OH,WHAT A RUSH OF MOTHER HORMONES! I stopped what I was doing, and hugged and kissed her! Plenty more than she wanted! She just wanted to continue on with her exploring, and play. I cherished that moment though. BABY LOVE, gotta love that!
Motherhood is sweet. Sure, it gets overwhelming sometimes. With all the whining, mood swings, potty breaks, cooking, cleaning, etc......yup, it's not always rainbows when it comes to raising kids. Well not with mine at least. BUT, it's the best best best x best best best job I will ever want. Really, I love being a mom. I love my kids for who they are, and for their strengths and weaknesses. I want to be around for all the struggles life may throw their way, and hold them up when they fall. If we take moments throughout the day, to just STOP...we can find lots of those "little" things our children do that tug on our heart strings.

Adding Lots of Holiday Bows to My Shop!
This past week, I've been enjoying making some holiday bows and clips for my Etsy shop. I almost have 100 items listed, so I'm hoping once I get there, my shop will get noticed some more :) I am adding new items everyday, and enjoying creating with all my new ribbon!

Baby is Sick Today
You might not be able to tell from the picture because she looks happy, but my little one has had a fever all night. She just chooses to be up playing right now. She gets short burst of energy, and joy, than gets fussy and cranky again. Her brother made her a play area so she's been enjoying the blocks. I'm thinking she might have an ear infection, though. I'm not sure yet.
So my Etsy shop, will have to be put on hold for a couple of days I think. I have my baby to nurse back to health :) I've been a little discouraged the last week because I haven't had a sale in like 20 days or more. Reading in the forums on etsy, people say it takes a lot of time and I guess quite a bit of sellers experience "no sales" at times. SO, hopefully soon I will see sales again.

I Love Baby Crochet Items! A Featured Shop
Wow! Today I came across the cutest Etsy shop that carries all sorts of handmade crochet items. The shop is called, Paintcrochet by Andree Tunde There is just something sweet about crochet baby clothes and accessories. I started crocheting a few years ago and made some cute hats and flowers but didn't pursue it. I should start again. I just wish I had someone to show me more about how to crochet. Oh well, maybe I will start crocheting again, someday.
Omg, I am in LOVE with all her stuff! I can't wait until the weather gets cooler, so I can have my one year old wearing these lovely creations this winter!
I love all of them! It will be hard to choose which one to order haha!

Some of My Handmade Hair Bows
Come check out my shop! Here are examples of some of the hair bows I make. I put a lot of care into making these. My kids could vouch for that too! I treat the bows all tenderly, and don't let my kids touch them, unless their hands are washed! Then they are photographed and put away, waiting to get sold. I haven't sold a thing in 2 weeks! Man, I hope things pick up. They say on the Etsy forums that the summers are slower because families are out more and doing stuff, so who knows. The Princess and the Dog
The other day my older daughters decided to dress up my 1 year old, and take her outside to take pictures with my phone. I saw how adorable she looked while our dog just sat there as the Princess playfully swatted at her. I quickly grabbed my camera and shot away......

And loved on her. Aww, good dog Buttercup!  Then it was time for the Dog to go...uh oh....   
The poor little Princess was devastated!
Of course she was easily consoled shortly after, with Mommy's hugs and kisses!

My Journey Has Already Begun
I opened my etsy shop April 25, 2013 and have discovered IT IS NOT EASY selling on Etsy. I thought I could just make hair accessories(WHICH I LOVE TO DO) and post to etsy, and then generate sales. Well, come to find out there is soooo much more to having a successful shop! Since I opened I have only had 8 purchases. I didn't even get my first sale until 6 weeks after opening. AND I had like 40 something items listed instead of the 17 I started with.
I have learned since then, that etsy is more than just doing what you love. It is a tedious, but rewarding process of doing what you enjoy, and marketing yourself to get your products known to others from all over. While being a wife and raising an amazing family of 5 kids, having a shop on Etsy can get overwhelming at times. Sure, the first couple of months I found myself in front of my computer way more than I wanted to. Learning as much as I could about SEO, tags descent photography, and so forth. I started to forget why I wanted to start selling my work to begin with. Which is to do what I love-create adorable hair bows, and hopefully make extra income, while mothering my beautiful kids full time, and being a good wife.
So now, I try to make the best of my time, and be the best mom/wife my family deserves!
